Bowl-ed Over

In my last entry about two days ago, I blogged about bowler hats. Well guess what? Not even 24 hours after posting that I went out with my uncle to One Utama a mere 10 hours later to watch The Other Boleyn Girl and I came home clutching my new round wool/felt prize - my bowler hat!

BOOYAH!

I don't care what anyone says, "I'm a fashion victim", "Charlie Chaplin copycat", "You'll never wear it" etc etc, what's most important is that I love it and paid good money for it when I spotted it in the shop (I won't name which one; my secret! hahaha) while trawling around with my uncle trend spotting. Yes, we trend spot and take photos of shop windows because my uncle is so cool like that. (Overhaul of tartan/Vivienne Westwood inspired clothes this season, looks like punk is back even though it's dead)

Do you like my T-shirt? Don't you love my T-shirt? Of course you do! It's this year's birthday present from Rachel featuring Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears A Who. Wow, how did she know I love receiving clothes for my birthday AND am in love with Dr. Seuss? See it shows who your friends are and how well they know you.
Even better was when I went to Amcorp Mall with my mother today to borrow books when I FINALLY spotted the August issue of Teen Vogue that I've been hunting around for. Imagine my utmost happiness when I flipped to the editorials and found the model wearing this....

Then I logged onto the Internet for my usual ONTD gossip fix and found new pap pictures of Rachel Bilson in LAX sporting this...

Yes I seem that I am posting all these pics to justify my new purchase, so shuddup! >:P

Bat + D

I don't think I've blogged about the newest additions to my family. And no I don't mean that my mother is pregnant, cause God forbid should that ever happen because I would be a horrible older sister and a very selfish and abusive one, god forbid god forbid touch wood, I like being an only child kaythanks.

No, I'm talking about my new pet. Or pets! You would never think of me as the type to have pets huh seeing how Kame and Nikoru (my 17th birthday gift from Krystle ♥) turned out. But, but these are the best! Why? Because I don't have to feed them, bathe them or give them loving attention because they don't need it! (No, they are not Sims either)

They are my pet bats! (Yay how fitting considering how The Dark Knight came out this year)
So it all started back in 2006 when a lone fruit bat came to live in the rafters of my house. My dad and I named him Bat Masterson after some American Old West cowboy dude and TV series of the same name. After about 2 months and lots of photos taken, he eventually flew away and never came back :(

But all is good now! Because fast forward to the present Bat Masterson has come back! (Pic taken September 16 2008)

But that's not all. Bat came back, PLUS one. So we assumed that it was his lady friend. (17 September)

I was overjoyed with glee. Finally an animal I could love without having to care for it, plus it was exotic and something not many people would have. Little could we have known that Bat and his lady friend would come back one morning...

PLUS another one! I'd like to assume that the 3rd is Bat's son. (25 September) My father and I are currently thinking up names so dear friends if you have any suggestions we are open. ;D I'm thinking of naming the son Bruce, you know Bruce Wayne aka Batman and re-naming Bat to John ala John Wayne (that way they'll still be related and we'd still keep the Cowboy Wild Wild West theme going on, haha) But it's not confirmed.
__________________________________________________________________

So exams ended on Thursday (25 Sep) and all I can say is Add Maths is a killer and I probably spent a good amount of time on that paper scratching my head and banging my pen on the table with frustration. It was (almost) as bad as Accounts.

It was also almost as bad, ALMOST as bad when I heard that D has quit Salsa class.

SHOCK! HORROR!!

I know, I kind of died a little inside when his sister (who is also aptly named Nicole) told me.

I know, everyone has heard the story how I believe that he and I are Made For Each Other (MFEO) but no matter how many times I wax lyrical about it, the more I think about it the more I think it's true. And now because I never seized the day (carpe diem) and made a move, karma decided to be a bitch and take away all my opportunities. It's All or Nothing Nicole. You chose Nothing so now that's what you get...

NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My dear friends, and I know all of you who have heard my D rants are now rolling your eyes (don't think I don't know Sammie, Krystle and Rachel & co). I know I am pathetic but think about it. I fell for him when I first saw him through the glass window in the waiting room of Salsa class while his was going on. I was excited when I heard he was going to move on to mine. Imagine my shock and glee when I heard that he was the COUSIN of my CLASSMATE no less. He could've been a nobody, but nooo, he had to be closely related to my CLASSMATE. Tell me, how often does such a predicament ever occur? And what's more, his sister's name is NICOLE. What. A. Coincidence. Her parents could've named her Natalie or Naomi or Nicola or Nicol or Nichole but they chose to name her Nicole, LIKE MINE. Therefore I am pleased to say if we ever get married (cough) my parents in law WILL ACCEPT ME due to our amazingly obvious compatibility and similarities (same name with sister, cousin's classmate, love for Salsa dancing, same favourite movie, etc etc). I don't care what anyone else says and how cringey this sounds, but right now to my juvenile seventeen year old mind I believe in the stars and in karma after all that wishing during my lovesick, lovestruck, lovebugged 12 year-old self wishing for a certain someone that my prayers were answered in the form of D and...

I NEVER DID ANYTHING.

We were MFEO and he may not know that and I may regret this in the future, but if I didn't admit that this doesn't hurt then I'm lying. Cause it does.

It hurts. We may have been close physically, but we weren't emotionally and spiritually and there's nothing I can do to remedy that cause now he's gone.

Gone. Like that N'Sync song. GONE. Like that book. GONE, BABY, GONE. FUCKING GONE.

And I'd like to write more but to gain back whatever respect my friends had for me I have held back alot. But I think this is probably the most intimate rant I'll ever write on this somewhat dead blog. You know me, I'm...

He may have been gone though but I thought that I'd share this. The other day while having dinner my dad was hurrying me up cause he wanted to rush home and watch his TV show. When I asked what show it was he replied, "Changes of Destiny" but instead I heard "Changes of D****** L**". Imagine my horror.

And today (26 Sep) when I went over to play Assassin's Creed with Sammie on her PS3 surprise, surprise, guess what the main character's name is.

That's right: D. D Miles.

Oh and one more thing before I finally close this long-ish thing, apparently he shaved his head of beautiful hair. According to Elizabeth he has gone from Paul McCartney to Wentworth Miller. I guess that's ok considering he didn't go monk but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Yes, it's nice he became a little manlier but, AAAAARGH. I don't know what to say, so I won't say anything more. I've gotten this off my chest and I'll try never to bring him up again. Except now, Italiannies One Utama is my FAVOURITE RESTAURANT.

______________________________________________________________

On ANOTHER completely different note, (yes, long post haha) I guess bowler hats are now the new IN thing? First boater hats (ala Girls Generation) then fedoras (KAT-TUN) now bowler hats seem to be the next big thing. I've seen it on my bb Tae Min (from SHINee) and Demi Lovato recently.

I won't lie. I want a bowler hat now. :(
And since I'm posting about Demi, I can't believe I'm saying this but I downloaded her new album "Don't Forget" and I'm kinda sad to admit that I *kind of* like it. I didn't at first, but now it's growing on me.

Notable tracks include the first single Get Back, Two Worlds Collide, On The Line (with the JoBros) and my absolute favourite, the album title track Don't Forget. I have it on repeat now and I am very sad to admit that it is the perfect sad emo love song to heal broken hearts. Seriously.

It seems like my music taste has gone to shit now. But really. Take my advice and take a chance on Demi like I did. I initially thought her as an ugly, no-talent, Disney loser, lucky bitch who got to act with Joe Jonas but now I'm singing a different tune.

Literally.

And now since I'm praising the girl, hell I'll even go further and admit that she looks pretty in the pictures for her album. And I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE ♥♥♥♥♥ this jacket that she's wearing.

And since I mentioned the JoBros (haaaaaa) yesterday Krystle offered to make me a banner for my fic. I wanted this damn Rolling Stone cover for so long already but couldn't find it online. Now that I've found it...:

LOOK AT THAT. IF THAT ISN'T SEXY THEN I DON'T KNOW WHAT CRACK YOU'RE SMOKING OR IF YOU'RE JUST BLIND.

....Or if you're just lovesick like me and think that no matter what, a certain someone just looks better :)

Tell Me Something I Don't Know

This blog is really on the verge of dying isn't it? I know I know, blame it on exams and poor internet connection (what's new?)

Despite all that, I've had time to do my own thing on the net and I've got fans! So far 267 reviews (since 31 August) , a Spanish translation and I'm nominated in the JBFFA, WOAH. I'm most 5th most reviewed story and number 1 favourite story AND author. YEAH!!!!!

I know sounds dumb from your point of view but I'm actually quite proud of myself. I worked hard during the holidays on this particular project and am actually steaming through, something I've never really done before. It's usually one post here, one post there then the whole interest dies. But not this one, nope, I've got tons of ideas to play out plus the positive reviews are kind of good motivation. ;)

And I realise that I have lost most of you at this point.

My bad.

My 'Another Cinderella Story' download finished today and I've got to say it's a....

TERRIBLE MOVIE. Seriously, I'm usually a sucker for B grade films and cheesy teen fare but this was seriously bad. Not even my supposed hatred but secret fascination for Selena Gomez could save this one. And the lead guy Drew Seeley who played Joey Parker is UGLY. The acting was ok, the dancing was good but the storyline was a tad bit fast and did not develop enough to be believable. Like, seriously? "I've been searching everywhere for you!"

No shit Sherlock, you only searched for the girl in the cafeteria while sitting on your fat ass.

And what's with me and watching bad B grade Disney movies these days?

Oh right, I love Disney.

Sorry, I forgot. -_-

As for the movie's title track (see blog title :D), it personally reflects my mood towards circumstances in life right now. Ho hum.

Get a clue.

before I go, thought I'd show you this really weird review I got today. idk, it's weird.

"wow, i really, really like this....youve gotta keep writing, haha now ive gotta go back and make comments on the others, i thot i was coming late in the writing, but looks like im right in the middle, thats kinda cool....ok so um ya, lol AKWARD! (haha i hope your character is like this underneath)

o, where do you live?????? cuz i just started school at the end of august... we wont have exams for quite a while, actually im out for a whole week, that sounds good but it really sucks, cuz then we have to make it up later, stupid hurricane ike, at least im really lucky and i have power, the majority of people dont, everybody comes to our house and eats like dinner and watches TV, last night there was a total of 11 kids in our house, and there are only 4 of us, so ya lots

so ok, your story, i love it, i love how she loves pink electronics, i personally dont, but sometimes i do when there not mine, cuz then i dont always hav to look at them, i can just admire from a distance....o in the last one, is her nickname Kateh, pronounced kinda like ka-tay?, cuz my nickname is that, and it kinda freaked me out that she had the same one, if she does, i just couldnt figure out how to say it,

srri for the super long boring comment/review type thing, its kinda like 2:43 am right now, so im really tired, i used to be hyper on the night sky, i was like jumping up and down, but idk wat happened to me, its most likely lack of sleep

you know wat sounds really good right now? sugar cookies, like the homemade ones that we make at my house, from my nanas recipe, with that good icing on it, like the kind of icing we had for lisas cake! haha my friends birthday is the same day as nick j's! but shes a year younger, exactly so.......

HAPPY B-DAY LISA AND NICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Say what?
