Closet For College
I just found a bunch of style blogs and the genius that is
Chictopia.com. Holy cow! I'm in bloody style heaven. So much inspiration, so much style, so many beautiful clothes.
Is it sad how clothes are inspiring me to start college now? I can't wait to wake up in the mornings to go for my classes dolled up in my outfits. Chic breezy blouses paired with a cute pencil/tulip skirt topped off with a hat (preferably my bowler or fedora) and a sweater in case it gets cold. OR! My new star print blouse I bought in Bangkok with the bow around the collar paired with my new (get this) skinny leg CHEAP MONDAY JEANS (YES, CHEAP MONDAY. ME. MUAHAHAHAHA) and Zara black ankle boots to elongate my
stumps legs.
I never did well in High School because we were made to wear Alice in Wonderland inspired uniforms everyday. Instead, I always excelled in tuition because we were given the freedom and I shined amongst all the t-shirt and jeans clad students. I always tell my mother: "When I look damn good, I feel damn good and then I perform damn good."
Of course.
Don't you just hate it when people turn up for classes in nothing but t-shirt and jeans and a pair of slippers? (Yes, I have been a victim, but no longer!!!) It pisses me off when I see people in slippers. It looks sloppy and it shows you don't take pride in how you portray yourself to the world. I know you're one of those "don't judge me" people but COME ON, at least don't be an eyesore to others. Have a bit of courtesy.

Until You're Mine
Yet again woke up at the ungodly hour of 7.30 a.m. this morning during my numbered holidays and set off for my 6 hour car maintenance seminar thingy. T'was lucky I suppose cause guess who I met there? Harinder! And from Harinder I found out that my future sister-in-law was going to attend the same college as she was come January: Metropolitan College. (La di da di da....!)
So I shall announce it here right now:
WOO HOO, I NOW KNOW HOW TO CHANGE CAR TYRES!Yeah big deal, let's move on.
What really prompted me to blog today came about as I was having lunch with Roxy and our driving instructor at some small restaurant. I learned that someone in Roxy's class (someone whom I do not think highly of) had recently gotten a job a grand brand name store (I shall not name names)
Now,
WHAT THE HELL. WHAT IS THIS. If you knew said person we were gossiping about, you would know and understand that said person is SO NOT the type who would be able to secure such a highly-demanded job!
Which obviously got me angry and all motivated.
BLOODY FUCKING HELL, if that girl can do it, then SO CAN I. And I guarantee I can do it 196654265465435113232132168487 times better. Now I don't really toot my own horn (okay, who am I kidding?) but seriously? TOOT, TOOT GIRLFRIENDS. I'm off to the mall now.
IS
MARC JACOBS HIRING?!?!?!
And to make things worse, I recently found out my cousin is a good friend of Cleo magazine's Editor in Chief. How about helping out a poor desperate soul here? I am fully willing and eager to fetch your coffee, throw your rubbish, scrub your toilets, make photocopies and be at your beck and call 24/7 for this once in a lifetime experience. I have no problems being your own personal human pet dog. Just teach me something; I want an internship. I want to work at a magazine and see what life would be like for me in the future when I pursue fashion editing. I want to touch beautiful clothes and stop crying everytime I can only stand outside the store window and dream. Even if I must stand on all fours and scrub the damn floor with a single brush and a bucket of water
I SHALL PREVAIL because that's how much I want and value such a life. I'm tired of looking from the bottom up. It's time to MOVE IT. (lol, stolen from Madagascar)
It's time to make dreams a reality now.

Bowl-ed Over
In my last entry about two days ago, I blogged about bowler hats. Well guess what? Not even 24 hours after posting that I went out with my uncle to One Utama a mere 10 hours later to watch
The Other Boleyn Girl and I came home clutching my new round wool/felt prize - my bowler hat!
BOOYAH!
I don't care what anyone says, "I'm a fashion victim", "Charlie Chaplin copycat", "You'll never wear it" etc etc, what's most important is that I love it and paid good money for it when I spotted it in the shop (I won't name which one; my secret! hahaha) while trawling around with my uncle trend spotting. Yes, we trend spot and take photos of shop windows because my uncle is so cool like that. (Overhaul of tartan/Vivienne Westwood inspired clothes this season, looks like punk is back even though it's dead)

Do you like my T-shirt? Don't you love my T-shirt? Of course you do! It's this year's birthday present from Rachel featuring
Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears A Who. Wow, how did she know I love receiving clothes for my birthday AND am in love with Dr. Seuss? See it shows who your friends are and how well they know you.

Even better was when I went to Amcorp Mall with my mother today to borrow books when I FINALLY spotted the August issue of Teen Vogue that I've been hunting around for. Imagine my utmost happiness when I flipped to the editorials and found the model wearing this....

Then I logged onto the Internet for my usual ONTD gossip fix and found new pap pictures of Rachel Bilson in LAX sporting this...

Yes I seem that I am posting all these pics to justify my new purchase, so shuddup! >:P

Bat + D
I don't think I've blogged about the newest additions to my family. And no I don't mean that my mother is pregnant, cause God forbid should that ever happen because I would be a horrible older sister and a very selfish and abusive one, god forbid god forbid touch wood, I like being an only child kaythanks.
No, I'm talking about my new pet. Or pets! You would never think of me as the type to have pets huh seeing how Kame and Nikoru (my 17th birthday gift from Krystle ♥) turned out. But, but these are the best! Why? Because I don't have to feed them, bathe them or give them loving attention because they don't need it! (No, they are not Sims either)
They are my pet bats! (Yay how fitting considering how The Dark Knight came out this year)
So it all started back in 2006 when a lone fruit bat came to live in the rafters of my house. My dad and I named him
Bat Masterson after some American Old West cowboy dude and TV series of the same name. After about 2 months and lots of photos taken, he eventually flew away and never came back :(
But all is good now! Because fast forward to the present
Bat Masterson has come back! (Pic taken September 16 2008)

But that's not all. Bat came back, PLUS one. So we assumed that it was his lady friend. (17 September)

I was overjoyed with glee. Finally an animal I could love without having to care for it, plus it was exotic and something not many people would have. Little could we have known that Bat and his lady friend would come back one morning...

PLUS another one! I'd like to assume that the 3rd is Bat's son. (25 September) My father and I are currently thinking up names so dear friends if you have any suggestions we are open. ;D I'm thinking of naming the son Bruce, you know Bruce Wayne aka Batman and re-naming Bat to John ala John Wayne (that way they'll still be related and we'd still keep the Cowboy Wild Wild West theme going on, haha) But it's not confirmed.
__________________________________________________________________
So exams ended on Thursday (25 Sep) and all I can say is Add Maths is a killer and I probably spent a good amount of time on that paper scratching my head and banging my pen on the table with frustration. It was (almost) as bad as Accounts.
It was also almost as bad, ALMOST as bad when I heard that
D has quit Salsa class.
SHOCK! HORROR!!I know, I kind of died a little inside when his sister (who is also aptly named Nicole) told me.
I know, everyone has heard the story how I believe that he and I are
Made
For
Each
Other (
MFEO) but no matter how many times I wax lyrical about it, the more I think about it the more I think it's true. And now because I never seized the day (carpe diem) and made a move, karma decided to be a bitch and take away all my opportunities. It's All or Nothing Nicole. You chose Nothing so now that's what you get...
NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!My dear friends, and I know all of you who have heard my D rants are now rolling your eyes (don't think I don't know Sammie, Krystle and Rachel & co). I know I am pathetic but think about it. I fell for him when I first saw him through the glass window in the waiting room of Salsa class while his was going on. I was excited when I heard he was going to move on to mine. Imagine my shock and glee when I heard that he was the COUSIN of my CLASSMATE no less. He could've been a nobody, but nooo, he had to be closely related to my CLASSMATE. Tell me, how often does such a predicament ever occur? And what's more, his sister's name is NICOLE. What. A. Coincidence. Her parents could've named her Natalie or Naomi or Nicola or Nicol or Nichole but they chose to name her Nicole, LIKE MINE. Therefore I am pleased to say if we ever get married (cough) my parents in law WILL ACCEPT ME due to our amazingly obvious compatibility and similarities (same name with sister, cousin's classmate, love for Salsa dancing, same favourite movie, etc etc). I don't care what anyone else says and how cringey this sounds, but right now to my juvenile seventeen year old mind I believe in the stars and in karma after all that wishing during my lovesick, lovestruck, lovebugged 12 year-old self wishing for a certain someone that my prayers were answered in the form of D and...
I NEVER DID ANYTHING.
We were MFEO and he may not know that and I may regret this in the future, but if I didn't admit that this doesn't hurt then I'm lying. Cause it does.
It hurts. We may have been close physically, but we weren't emotionally and spiritually and there's nothing I can do to remedy that cause now he's gone.
Gone. Like that N'Sync song. GONE. Like that book. GONE, BABY, GONE. FUCKING GONE.
And I'd like to write more but to gain back whatever respect my friends had for me I have held back alot. But I think this is probably the most intimate rant I'll ever write on this somewhat dead blog. You know me, I'm...

He may have been gone though but I thought that I'd share this. The other day while having dinner my dad was hurrying me up cause he wanted to rush home and watch his TV show. When I asked what show it was he replied, "Changes of Destiny" but instead I heard "Changes of D****** L**". Imagine my horror.
And today (26 Sep) when I went over to play Assassin's Creed with Sammie on her PS3 surprise, surprise, guess what the main character's name is.
That's right:
D.
D Miles.
Oh and one more thing before I finally close this long-ish thing, apparently he shaved his head of beautiful hair. According to Elizabeth he has gone from Paul McCartney to Wentworth Miller. I guess that's ok considering he didn't go monk but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Yes, it's nice he became a little manlier but, AAAAARGH. I don't know what to say, so I won't say anything more. I've gotten this off my chest and I'll try never to bring him up again. Except now, Italiannies One Utama is my FAVOURITE RESTAURANT.
______________________________________________________________
On ANOTHER completely different note, (yes, long post haha) I guess bowler hats are now the new IN thing? First boater hats (ala Girls Generation) then fedoras (KAT-TUN) now bowler hats seem to be the next big thing. I've seen it on my bb
Tae Min (from SHINee) and
Demi Lovato recently.

I won't lie. I want a bowler hat now. :(
And since I'm posting about Demi, I can't believe I'm saying this but I downloaded her new album "Don't Forget" and I'm kinda sad to admit that I *kind of* like it. I didn't at first, but now it's growing on me.
Notable tracks include the first single
Get Back,
Two Worlds Collide,
On The Line (with the JoBros) and my absolute favourite, the album title track
Don't Forget. I have it on repeat now and I am very sad to admit that it is the
perfect sad emo love song to heal broken hearts. Seriously.
It seems like my music taste has gone to shit now. But really. Take my advice and take a chance on Demi like I did. I initially thought her as an ugly, no-talent, Disney loser, lucky bitch who got to act with Joe Jonas but now I'm singing a different tune.
Literally.
And now since I'm praising the girl, hell I'll even go further and admit that she looks pretty in the pictures for her album. And I
LOVE,
LOVE,
LOVE,
LOVE ♥♥♥♥♥ this jacket that she's wearing.

And since I mentioned the JoBros (haaaaaa) yesterday Krystle offered to make me a banner for my fic. I wanted this damn Rolling Stone cover for so long already but couldn't find it online. Now that I've found it...:

LOOK AT THAT. IF THAT ISN'T SEXY THEN I DON'T KNOW WHAT CRACK YOU'RE SMOKING OR IF YOU'RE JUST BLIND.....Or if you're just lovesick like me and think that
no matter what, a certain someone just looks better :)

Calm and Confidence...
Blogging again! Computer still not fixed as I'm waiting for my father to come back from Mongolia (via Korea: GOODIES) on the 29th though he did call and say he might come back on the 22nd if things go well. *crosses fingers*
Nicole cannot survive without the internet. No she can't. She is so desperate that she sits in front of her nearly decade old laptop to load and connect to the internet to read fics and surf online (but no videos ;_;) with a kame-slow connection of 31.2Kbps that costs RM0.04 cents per minute on TM Net 1315 (that surprisingly works!). I swear, the slow connection must be on purpose.
On the brighter side of life, lots of things have happened. Exciting things. *coughs* Did I mention that....
BOO YAH, NICOLE YEONG IS THE NUMBER ONE ACCOUNTS GENIUS IN THE WHOLE OF SMK ASSUNTA???The failure of all failures. The Accounts Retard. I, Nicole Yeong Wai May! (yes it's real! I even took pictures of the letter)
Imagine that. ;) This just goes to prove that I
can do Accounts, just not in
BM. >.> Selected to go to Taylor's College to represent our school for the next round of quizzes (prize includes a 4 year scholarship to study business, not bad actually) but declined because:
1) I may have scored the highest, but most are convinced it's because of sheer luck and I don't disagree. After all, I did manage to
FAIL or scrape by in Accounts this term.
2) Ceriathon on the same day. And this year I'm doing
Kingyo shuku(in?) with Krystle & co.
I want to go because:
1)
D might be there. :D
But I won't because:
1)
D might NOT be there. D:
Is this called love? I'm guessing not because the moment I see
Kazuya's face my mind immediately turns
D off. Ha!
_____________________________________________________________
On another GOOD note (gosh, so many good things, it's like life is finally turning around, THANK YOU!!!) The letter I've been waiting for is finally here. My interview is on Monday (23 June) and let's hope all goes well. Been dreaming about this day since June 2007, so I guess that makes it, what? A year? Don't screw up, don't screw up...If I screw this up I will seriously cry. No joke.
IC? Check. Certs? Check. Testimonial? (even though forced and is a con job and a big fat lie) Check!
BRING IT ON BABY. I'm ready for Mondaaaaaaaaaay!
P.S.:// what a coincidence, we had this workshop in school today about Calm and Confidence in Acting and most of the points were pretty useful (to be used in interviews anyway). One of the first questions were: "When was the last time you were nervous?"
To answer that, I truly cannot remember the last time I was nervous. But I guess to be more human, I'll admit I'm feeling nervous right now. Read: INTERVIEW ON MONDAY.
RRRAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWRRRRRR. I CAN DO THIS.
I KNOW I AM BETTER THAN SOME PEOPLE WHO ARE GOING TOO. WHEN NICOLE YEONG WANTS SOMETHING, SHE'S GOING TO GET IT AND BRING YOU DOWN AT THE SAME TIME, BLAIR WALDORF STYLE. xoxo till the next I'm near good connection...

My Ideal Boyfriend
So under the advice of Wen Chian, today I rushed home from tuition and watched So Nyuh Shi Dae's new "Kissing You" MV. Omg the cuteness! Oh wait, OMONA the cuteness! I was obsessed with Dong Hae before Hee Chul but I think now he's a close second after Chullie (because Hee Chul will forever be "number one Korea handsome guy.")
Anyway the whole video was cutesy-cutesy and made even more adorable with the solo scenes between Dong Hae and my favourite SNSD member, Tiffany. :P
It reminded me that:
(a) If I get a boyfriend, we must take purikura and our ideal pose would be this-
THE COUPLE HEART! SO CUTE RIGHT!! :3
(b) We must co-ordinate outfits! Omona, so dashing! I especially love love love Tiffany's outfit. See how her skirt matches her bow and hair piece? (not pictured) And then there's Dong Hae looking adorable in his pink shirt and cuddling up to her. I can totally picture myself and future boyf to do this. Even if we don't, I will force him. MUAHAHAHHA. And if you can't see it from here, they totally even have matching haircuts! :O OMONA!

AWWWW. *sniff* *sniff*
I can so totally picture Sammie right now. "SHUT UP, NICOLE! This is why you don't have a boyfriend!": (

Totally bringing cutesy back.

I am a Japanese Schoolgirl
I was a Japanese schoolgirl for a day, and now I am a Japanese schoolgirl again for a night. :D Went to Amira's (from the
Japan trip) birthday party on Dec 15. The theme was Harajuku. Because I am poor and own no Japanese clothes which are expensive as heck (esp:
Takuya Angel, my fave! Anyone who reads Shoichi Aoki's FRUiTS streetstyle photobooks would know) I rip open my Seventeen's for ideas.
The inspiration:
(
ignore the 'Potter sheets, srsly)

The result:
Sweater: MNG
White shirt: WH
Tartan skirt with lace: iSocks Times Square (omg lala heaven -_-)
Ribbon (around neck): Armarium YE product all cut up
Pirate boots: ZARA (50% off!! xD)
Aliceband (on head): Handmade
Note to self: Seriously need to hunt down black knee socks.
Anyway, true to Malaysian spirit, nearly almost everybody there wasn't in costume save for a few people like the birthday girl, myself, 3 other girls (one in half a yukata!) and one boy in decora style. :P
Come on people, at least be sporting lah! What the hell. That's why I hate going to costume parties in Malaysia, nearly almost everyone NEVER complies with the dresscode. They think it's
HUMILIATING. Party poopers. Part of the fun is embarrassing yourself don't you know? That way, everyone can have fun. Jesus Christ.

With partner in crime: ALE! Schoolgirl and schoolboy. :D Lol, I love this pic.

With the birthday girl.
Otanjou-bi Omedetou Gozaimasu!

My aunty arrive a day earlier. xD TOPSHOP IS MAJOR HAPPINESS. And watching an ang moh eat with chopsticks is major LOL itself.

This Love Is Serious...NOT
Was at the Curve today because I wanted to go to Borders for free reading. (Seriously, RM63.90 for a bloody book? BLASPHEMY!) Was wandering around while my mother shopped in Tesco when I happened on this:

HOLY COW Harajuku Lovers?!?!
For those of you not in the know, Harajuku Lovers is the brainchild of Ms. Gwen Stefani along with
Love. Angel. Music. Baby. A clothing line of sorts, along with bags and shoes and other items of fashion that most of you would not care about.
What's a girl to do? BUY OBVIOUSLY. Do you know the hours I've spent online just drooling over her clothes? I'm no big fan of Gwen musically, but fashion-wise, SHE IS A STYLE GURU. And the best part?
Each shirt only costs RM29.90 With a bargain like that, I'm definitely not revealing the place I bought these glorious shirts, but then again with that price there's only one shop in the Curve that sells legit brands for a cheap price. What a bargain, what a bargain I tell you! I'm definitely going back to buy the rest of the designs on sale. ♥♥♥♥
Reminds me of the first time I went for Accounts tuition and sat next to this girl with a funky pencilbox. I was about to compliment her on it when I suddenly saw the brand emblazoned across it:
L.A.M.B.Me: "OMG I LOVE YOUR PENCILBOX. IS IT L.A.M.B. BY GWEN STEFANI?!"
Girl (whose name turned out to be Sophia) : "Thanks! Yeah, it is."
Me: "Holy crap, where did you buy it?!?!?!"
Sophia: "U.S."
Me: "Oh darn. I love love love your pencil box! May I touch it?" (I know I'm such a creep)
Sophia: "Yeah sure. You know, I've had this pencilbox for quite awhile but you're the first person to notice it's
L.A.M.B.."
Hmmm, don't know whether she meant that as a compliment or not but - I felt very flattered. :3
You can say that after that, we were good friends throughout the year. Too bad I won't be seeing her again next year. :(

Determination + Self Esteem + Ugly Betty = One Big Mess
This is going to be a self-discovering post so put up with me or ship out, I'm not forcing anyone to read my rants and I'll write what I want to write no matter how lengthy and long-winded it can be.
It's having a goal and determination to achieve it. It's knowing what I want and never settling for less or second best. It's pushing myself to be the very best I can be. It's forgoing a social life to hone and carve out talents that would prove useful for my dreams. It's about not giving a damn what anyone thinks about your dreams no matter how hurtful those comments can be. It's pursuing something everyone thinks is stupid but having faith in yourself that you can do it. It's being secretive and not telling anyone even your parents about your dreams for the future. It's forgoing all outings and interactions with friends just so you can save money for your desire. It's spending long nights in front of the computer observing and learning everything you see. It's memorising all the little things that will help you one day. It's about keeping your mouth shut so the little thread that's helping you to go on and pursue a greater want will never snap. No matter what anyone thinks of me, I will make it.
2008 - it's about my dreams. Next year is going to be the year where I'll grind myself into the ground, oil those machines and get going without looking back. It's not about caring what other people think: when I want it, I want it. I'm not going to back down to no one. I'll try my best to impress those that need it, not the little voices of dissaproval in the background. You think I can't do it?
Watch me.
__________________________________________________
Mandarin class was postponed from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. today so I spent the afternoon watching Ugly Betty. It's surprising really that comedy about a highly-irritating fat-ass ruining a good fashion magazine can reduce me in the end to nothing but a pool of tears. It was a conversation between my second favourite character Wilhelmina Slater (the first being Marc her assistant, so gay I ♥ him) and her daughter Nico. (lawl, coincidence?)
Nico was doing what normal red-blooded teenagers do blah blah and rebelling against her mother. It wasn't that scene that make me cry but what Wilhelmina said later when they were in her house/apartment discussing about the day's events. Nico accused Wilhelmina for not being able to love and Wilhelmina snapped back:
"The most valuable lesson somebody thought me is that
the only person you can depend on is yourself."
When those words sprang out of her mouth, tears pooled from my eyes and soon I was nothing but a weeping mess. Those words touched my heart because in many ways, it is very much true. No man is an island, yes but you can't depend on anyone for anything but yourself. You are the most important person in the world and sometimes being selfish is what you need to get yourself through. Sometimes you need to take one for the team, but what happens when they betray and stab your back?
*ahem* Anyway, then Nico accuses Wilhelmina for building armour so great she can't love anyone or feel anything. I digress, building a wall for yourself means you're protecting yourself from the world. When someone has a goal they strive to work hard for it, what's wrong with that? Nico is such an ungrateful bitch, her parents want what's BEST for her. And yet she can answer with such trite like "What about what's best for me?"
WTH BITCH. WHAT'S BEST FOR YOU AND WHAT'S BEST FOR ME IS THE SAME DAMN THING. THEY WANT TO SEND TO BOARDING SCHOOL IN FRANCE, TAKE IT. HELL, IF MY PARENTS DID THAT I'D GO WILLINGLY, AND WITH A SNAP OF MY DAD'S FINGERS I'D BE ON THE PLANE TO CHARLES DU GAULLE AIRPORT IN NO TIME.
No one and I mean NO ONE can beat the bitchiness that is Wilhelmina Slater and in many ways, I relate to her. I sincerely feel that I do. Too bad that ugly fat-ass bitch is going to win. PUT MODELS BACK ON THE COVER. The reason why nobody puts fat/"real" people is because they ARE UGLY.
Period.
