Sorted

I actually went for that Education Fair held by the Star newspaper in KLCC today. To say I was dubious and reluctant to go for it in the first place is an understatement, but after a whole lot of nagging and 'be serious, it's your life' talks by my mother I finally relented.

We arrived there while the doors were still closed but to my surprise they actually started right on the dot on the stated time. First impressions are important and I'm impressed. The hall was also really big and well organized so it was easy to navigate. First stop, my mother's favourite school: KDU. I swear, it's like they paid her money to mention their school to me every single damn day. Makes it worse when the school is right opposite my house across the highway.

After about 30 minutes of chatting with an adviser I guess they sort of won me over as well. The only thing I didn't like is that they associate with Australian Universities which I am totally AGAINST. I hate Australia, NONONONONONONO. Even worse, all of them were located in suburban areas like Perth and Adelaide, ARGH! Why the hell would anyone subject themselves to the torture that is the Australian suburb? I can't even take the damn city, I'd seriously kill myself if I ever had to go back. I'm really not joking.

But you don't care what I think.

We walked out from that little chat feeling a little relieved and happy that I finally had a prospective college to attend in March. My mother even happier seeing that KDU is:
1. near
2. cheap

Walked around a bit more until we happened on another college. I actually have no idea what made us stop, seeing as we had been refusing offers left right and center on anything that didnt interest us. Must've been fate, must've been karma because the Education Gods are seriously smiling upon me right now.

I found something even better.

I haven't registered yet, but I think this is it. It's the one and it only took 5 minutes for the boy (a student as well, even better for my mother to interrogate) to convince us that this was it. It took the lady 30 minutes to tell me about KDU but it took 5 minutes and no sitting down for me to click. Reasons:

1. It's even cheaper than KDU! Like RM5 000+ cheaper
2. Location is okay (Uptown)
3. The university they offer is actually really near my aunt's house in the London.
4. Endorsed by alot of pretty prestigious firms here in Malaysia and even New York City.
5. Opportunity to study fashion marketing and merchandising.
6. Small school/less well-known = less opportunity for running into somebody I know

SOLD.

to the confused teenager at the back. Hello my friend, London's calling. ;D

I won't reveal the college I chose yet seeing as I haven't registered or anything yet. Who knows, it might turn out to be a dud, but I've got a feeling it won't. :)

You could say I left that hall feeling really happy. We then left for KLIA to fetch my dad who arrived back from Mongolia via Beijing today. There must've been some flight from Mekkah or something today, everyone in the Arrivals hall was clad in white religious wear (idk what its called). How fun. I love looking at the Departure/Arrival boards, makes me wish that if I were born male I would've been a pilot. As a female, I myself am sexist towards female pilots. I wouldn't feel safe with me in the cockpit let alone a whole plane full of passengers.

Until You're Mine

Yet again woke up at the ungodly hour of 7.30 a.m. this morning during my numbered holidays and set off for my 6 hour car maintenance seminar thingy. T'was lucky I suppose cause guess who I met there? Harinder! And from Harinder I found out that my future sister-in-law was going to attend the same college as she was come January: Metropolitan College. (La di da di da....!)

So I shall announce it here right now:
WOO HOO, I NOW KNOW HOW TO CHANGE CAR TYRES!

Yeah big deal, let's move on.

What really prompted me to blog today came about as I was having lunch with Roxy and our driving instructor at some small restaurant. I learned that someone in Roxy's class (someone whom I do not think highly of) had recently gotten a job a grand brand name store (I shall not name names)

Now, WHAT THE HELL. WHAT IS THIS. If you knew said person we were gossiping about, you would know and understand that said person is SO NOT the type who would be able to secure such a highly-demanded job!

Which obviously got me angry and all motivated. BLOODY FUCKING HELL, if that girl can do it, then SO CAN I. And I guarantee I can do it 196654265465435113232132168487 times better. Now I don't really toot my own horn (okay, who am I kidding?) but seriously? TOOT, TOOT GIRLFRIENDS. I'm off to the mall now.

IS MARC JACOBS HIRING?!?!?!

And to make things worse, I recently found out my cousin is a good friend of Cleo magazine's Editor in Chief. How about helping out a poor desperate soul here? I am fully willing and eager to fetch your coffee, throw your rubbish, scrub your toilets, make photocopies and be at your beck and call 24/7 for this once in a lifetime experience. I have no problems being your own personal human pet dog. Just teach me something; I want an internship. I want to work at a magazine and see what life would be like for me in the future when I pursue fashion editing. I want to touch beautiful clothes and stop crying everytime I can only stand outside the store window and dream. Even if I must stand on all fours and scrub the damn floor with a single brush and a bucket of water I SHALL PREVAIL because that's how much I want and value such a life. I'm tired of looking from the bottom up. It's time to MOVE IT. (lol, stolen from Madagascar)

It's time to make dreams a reality now.

5 Hours In; 20 More To Go

I survived! *throws confetti*

Slept at 4 a.m. last night (for me, that's pretty early) and woke up at the ungodly hour of 7.45 a.m. to head off for our mandatory 5 hour driving Highway Code thingy whatever today.

I've heard alot of horror stories from various people telling me that it's boring, it's so dull bla bla bla...But to tell you the truth, I quite enjoyed it. Sure, our lecturer did ramble and go off topic sometimes and he did try to impress the Brit sitting in front of me many times but it was still entertaining. I learned a lot about the road that I never knew before. So, yay. I can't say the same for Rachel though, she fell alseep halfway through the seminar. T'was quite funny watching her drift off out of nowhere.

Off to Thailand this Thursday (18 December) and coming back home on the 21st. Then I'll be taking my highway code test the very next day. And then it's 6 hours of practical training (changing tyres, omg) and THEN finally I get to go behind the wheel and drive. I can't wait.

I can pretty much foresee myself sitting inside the car as it drops backwards on the slope. Or the car dying on the slope. Or accelerating down it accidentally.

Not a good thing.

So it's 6 hours + 12 hours + 2 hours (waiting time for test)...

HELLO ONE UTAMA.

Replay, I Need A Replay

I have nearly exactly 9 days to revise for each subject I'm taking for SPM. Minus the hours I take to sleep, eat, go to the toilet, tuition etc etc there's probably less than that left.

Haven't updated in aaaaages mainly because my Internet connection hates me and my computer was attacked by some shitty adware virus. But all is good now, minus the shitty connection. In fact it took me 3 days before I could even finish this damn post.

So many, many things have happened since I last updated I guess. I have a backlog of entries and experiences to put up but I guess I'll start with the most exciting : MTV ASIA AWARDS!

Yup, I went bitches. VIP seats too (but didn't get the darn goodie bags D:<) Still, many thanks to Vivian, Inessa, Rachel and Krystle for helping us win the tickets and Sammie and Sammie's Dad and Sammie's Dad's Friend for giving us another 2. You are all my little rock stars and that's why you guys are my friends. :D :D :D :D Took a bus from OneU to Genting seeing as nobody was willing to take us up (my dad wasn't around). Started at 1.30 arrived around...2.45? The trip was surprisingly smooth, so no complaints from me. I guess we have Rachel to thank for praying so hard. Look at her, saying her little prayer.

Arrived and got on the cable car. By the way, what happened to all the animals on the hill? Where did they all go??

Arrived and rushed to collect the tickets we won. I tell you, it was such a headache searching for that stupid Genting Showroom Box Office. SignageS were so crappy and the security guards weren't any help and not to mention the fact they blocked some of the escalators (probably because of the stars). Found the place, collected our tickets and found out to our utmost happiest surprise that our hotel was just opposite the Arena of Stars. Such convenience! :D My lucky stars were definitely shining that day.

Had nothing to do, so we decided to wait around. Suddenly out of the corner of my eye I realised I saw someone I thought was familiar. Very, very, very familiar. The one man I have been longing to meet for God knows how long. It's....

OMG KENNY SIA!!!
I swear to you man, my heart couldn't stop racing and blood was pounding in my ears. I guess I must've acted like a fool in front of him cause I started shouting, "Kenny! It's Kenny! Omg it's KENNY SIAAAAAAA!!!!" to Krystle who was embarrassed to be around me. The horde of people who were waiting outside the Arena as well thought I saw some huge star and some of them actually looked disappointed when I ran up to Kenny on the other side of the gate. Everyone was staring but I didn't care. One of my life's goals, FULFILLED!!

I guess I must've acted like an idiot cause I remember going "Hi KENNY! HI, OMG I'M SUCH A HUGE FAN! I GOT YOUR AUTOGRAPH, MY FRIEND HERE HAS ACTUALLY MET YOU BEFORE AND I CARRY IT EVERYWHERE I GO!" And Kenny was actually kind enough not to dismiss me as a raving lunatic.

Rachel who went to the toilets to change with Vivian was quite sad, because it is also one of her dreams to meet Kenny. Better luck next time! : D

So, since Vivian and Rachel got different tickets (the free seating ones) Krystle and I went off to meet Vivian's dad who was going to help us check in. We left them outside the Arena after lots of planning (meet at Coffee Terrace stat after show) and ran to our room to dump our bags and get ready. Slight problem with the room key but that was quickly solved.

Got ready, hid our cameras in our pants, handphones and tickets; check! Made our way to the Arena and waited outside for the gates to open. Apparently the free seaters and mosh pit people were allowed to enter but we VIP's had to wait. Eventually we got in and breezed through security (stupid bag checks).

While waiting for the doors to open some local band and some lady were performing and giving away free stuff.

And who do I meet but...well actually I don't know who this guy is. I just took a picture with him because Krystle claims he is famous and on 8TV.
Well, ok. I don't care who you are, if you're supposedly famous I'm snapping a photo with you. Plus, he was really nice about it even though we interrupted his smoking time.
Edit;; his name is VJ Adam and he is a presenter for 8TV. Oh, ok. :)

So home security guard that looked like Jonathan Rhys-Meyers. xD

At exactly 7 sharp we were allowed to enter the arena. Since we were VIP's, we got to enter through the red carpet. :P
I didn't really take many pictures of the show. And I'm pretty sure you guys know who performed. Pussycat Dolls (blah), OneRepublic (bigger blah), The Click Five (*yawn*), Stefanie Sun and some Electrico (whatever), Leona Lewis (okay), The Script (who?) and a bunch of other unimportant stars. People, people, don't you know who I'm waiting for??!

Not you, Leona Lewis. Sorry.

SUPER JUNIOR!!!

WOOH I TELL YOU. MY 11 BOYS REALLY AND TRULY ROCKED THE STAGE AND THE CROWD SO HARD. Their ballad at the start was so touching and suddenly the opening riffs of Don't Don started and out came all 11 (2 weren't present. NVM! The most important is Hee Chul). But that wasn't the best part, suddenly after the opening riffs they burst out into a whole different song entirely. It was hotter, louder, sexier, more crowd pleasing and their moves were so smooth, so hot, so impressive they practically put the Pussycat Dolls to shame. They well and truly rocked the house with 갈증 or Thirst (A Man in Love). I was so overwhelmed at one point I admit I cried.

I cried. Just watching my beautiful Hee Chul dance onstage even though he left a little early. I finally get to see nearly all my beautiful boys in real life and confirm that such perfection well and truly exists in this world. Super Junior, you did not fail to deliver!! You were so good even Jared Leto couldn't help but call you "the Greatest band in the World". TRUE FACT.

After Super Junior everything else was pretty much a blur. The second performance I was looking forward to was Panic! At the Disco. Oops, I mean, Panic at the Disco. -_-

Some local band.

Right after the local band performed, a group of people in marching uniforms appeared next to me. PANIC'S COMING.

And yup, my suspicions were confirmed. Panic! was the closing act for the night and I just sat there stunned. 2 years ago I was such a huge fan of Panic!. Purposely went to Singapore to buy their album (at an absurd price!) when Malaysia didn't have it, joined various LJ communities, stalked their ex-girlfriends (lol Jac Vanek and Audrey Kitching/various scenequeens), and then moved on to viawentztop and even through the phase where everyone worshipped The Rosevest.

Yes, I mean THE ROSEVEST. And if you don't get that, you're not a real or old enough Panic! fan. There, I said it.

They performed "I Write Sins Not Tragedies" and "Nine in the Afternoon".

And voila! The show ended.

But that's not all folks! Of course, a true fan would not just watch the show and then leave Genting/go straight to bed. Ohohoho, the night has just started. Straight after MTV Asia Awards ended, Krystle and I ran out of the Arena of Stars and fought our way to the Coffee Terrace in Genting Hotel where we knew the stars were going to have their after party. As a camera and autograph greedy whore, I HAD to be there when the stars arrived. HAD TO.

So thus started our nearly all night long wait for that few seconds of being close to fame. My initial plan was to meet Super Junior but other things happened and along the way my life sort of changed. Forever.

Then a funny thing happened. While waiting outside (it was hot in the hotel and no star arrived yet) I noticed a group of guys just happily smoking on the steps of the hotel (no joke) and squatting on the ground (yup, serious). Rachel was telling me how hot one of the guys looked and then I realised something. One of the fellas in the pink and brown striped shirt was kind of familiar. And not to mention, haha, hot.

It suddenly smacked into my brain that it was CHICOSCI! Don't even know why I remembered their name but I surprisingly did! Must be fated or something. Anyway, Chicosci were the winners of the Favourite Artist Award - Philippines. And then it hit me why I remembered who they were. During the show when all the nominees were being announced, Favourite Artist Award for Philippines garnered the least response from the crowd. Every other nominee had such loud hoots but when Chicosci were announced, not many people applauded, it was just a polite volume. I remember feeling sorry for them and probably remembered Chicosci from that moment of sympathy. *ahem*

So anyway, since Krystle, Rachel and I agreed that some of the members were hot I immediately approached the hottest one in the striking pink and brown sweater I love. :D

Here we are with Chicosci!
From left: Krystle, Ariel, Joel, Mong, Miggy, me (Nicole), Rachel and Calde.

Solo pic of me and Mong (my favourite) :D

Me, Calde, Krystle and Ariel (her favourite)

Rachel and Miggy (her favourite)
Another group photo.
Such freaking nice guys. We got their autographs and even chatted to them. I admitted I didn't know who they were but Mong was really sweet and offered to write their Myspace address for me. I promised that I would definitely check them out and guys, seriously, I have not regretted it. If you like From First to Last these guys are definitely worth checking out.

Besides, Chicosci are such fashionistas. Mong was wearing a pair of Raybans and Ariel complimented me on my shoes. He knew they were Vans!

Anyway after chatting, we left them alone (to smoke some more) and just loitered around the entrance. Suddenly this huge car pulls out and who comes out it's....

OMG
OMG

KAREN MOK!!!

*sarcasm*

Like seriously who cares right. And right after Karen another car pulls up and I was still disgruntled that I didn't realise who it was until Krystle shouted,

"JARED LETO!!! JARED LETO!! JARRREEEEDDD LEEEETTTOOO!"

She was grabbing my arm and screaming Jared Leto, there were no bodyguards nothing, nobody around us, we were exactly at arms length from the fella, I was so shocked that I suddenly dropped my bloody camera.

And you know what Jared said to me?!?! MOI??? MEE/?!?!? NICOLE YEONG?!?!

"Oh, your camera dropped." *points to camera on floor*

I swear, I always thought I'd have a clear head when I meet stars but now I know the definition of STARSTRUCK. And those blue eyes? Chyeah, they're real. *swoons*

So immediately I picked up my camera and ran after Jared. HELLO, DUH. But by then I was too slow cause from nobody there was all of a sudden a huge swarming crowd of other eager fans screaming and running after Jared along with me. Then the damn bodyguards appeared blocking my way and my arm so I had to chance to wave at Jared. At that point I was so close to crying.

To make things worse, Jared's fucking lackey or manager in some really ugly argyle sweater suddenly appears right by his side to stop the commotion. But sweet Jared, sweet sweet Jared assured him it was ok and the damn manager started picking random people to take photos with Jared. WHAT THE FUUUUUCK. WE SAW HIM FIRST. WHY CAN'T I SNAP A PHOTO?!?!?!?!

I started looking really pitiful and was crying out "JARED! JARED! PLEASE!! ONE PHOTO! JARED!" like a bloody beggar lah I tell you.

And to make things worse, this boy in a green shirt started doing the same and guess what?!? HE GOT CHOSEN TO GET A DAMN PHOTO WITH JARED!!!

So I started pleading more, this time louder and in his line of sight when suddenly Jared turns towards me, looks into my eyes, raises a free arm and says 2 very beautiful words,

"Hold on."

JARED LETO SAID HOLD ON TO ME. WOW, I'M ACKNOWLEDGED. HE LOOKED AT ME WITH THOSE BEWITCHINGLY BEAUTIFUL BLUE EYES THAT I'VE YEARNED TO LOOK INTO SINCE REQUEIM FOR A DREAM. HE STARED AT ME FOR 3 SECS AND HELD UP HIS ARM TO ME. WOW, OMG.

And to make things worse, Jared was about to walk towards us when suddenly the fucking manager again interrupts and tells Jared that they really had to go. So, there goes my damn chance again and I watched in despair as he walks away from me. So much for hold on. :(

But not to worry. Something good came out of Jared later in the night. :)

So after that, more celebs started appearing. OneRepublic (totally didn't recognise them), Nicholas Teo (he waved to me, twice!), VJ Denise, VJ Utt, The Click Five, and the Script!

I totally ignored everyone but the Script. Didn't know who they were but one minute they were exiting the elevator and the next thing they were right in front of me! Rachel being a smartass started shouting, "The Script ~I love you!" right when the lead singer passed. Too much la that woman, don't know who they are some more I love you.

But it was a good thing anyway, cause Danny the lead singer smiled at us and said "Hello, hi, hi!" and shook my hand. WOW, don't know the fella but I'm still happy. And how do I know that he was smiling at us? Because it was nearly 2 AM and there were not many people loitering around anymore but me, Rachel and Krystle and some other people who were waiting for Super Junior.

I didn't get pics of the passing celebs because they were walking way too fast. But I got a lot of Hellos! And one hello totally stood out.

It was 3 AM and I was just about ready to give up when suddenly I recognized a black cap with a feather peeking out from behind a security guard coming near. Without realizing, I grabbed Krystle and we shouted "It's Ryan! Ryan Ross!" With a magical turn of his head, Ryan Ross suddenly turns around from walking and waves to me! ME! RYAN ROSS WAVED TO ME!! Only me because there weren't anyone else around but me and bodyguards!

He walked too fast to take a picture and I was starstruck. Again.

Second chance. Ryan Ross comes out from the Coffee Terrace, Krystle and I shout "Ryan! Ryan Ross!" once more, more desperately but he still walks on but this time opens his melodious mouth and says, "Hello~!" to us while waving.

To quote Renee Zellweger in Jerry Maguire, "You had me at Hello."

Well and truly, Ryan Ross.

And then last but least, Jared Leto passes by again! This time, I was not letting go, I immediately stuck out my hand from between the guards and he signs the piece of paper (ok scribble), gives me more quick eye contact and walks away from the small group of us in a circle of tight security. The fucking manager is still around him.

(the JARED LETO 2 AUGUST 2008 part is my doing. The tiny scribble is Jared's)

Hey man, better than nothing.

Chicosci + myspace add in Mong's handwriting.
We eventually went back to our hotel room at 3.30am and fell asleep at 4 am.

Celebrities I met upclose (in order of appearance):
01. Adam (the 8TV guy)
02. Chicosci
03. Karen Mok
04. JARED LETO ♥
05. Utt
06. One Republic
07. The Click Five
08. Denise
09. RYAN ROSS ♥
10. Nicholas Teo (he waved at me! Twice!)
11. Panic at the Disco (the other members)
12. Serena C
13. TOR+ Saksit! (Thai singer)
